From Whom All Blessings Flow!

2 Corinthians 9:8  "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
Psalm 68:19 "Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits,The God of our salvation!"

God has been abundantly and exceedingly blessing our family these past few months...
There has been a lot going on in our lives, but He has been faithful through it all.

As most of you know, Jonathon found out a month ago, after going into work that he had been laid-off from AMS. I know it was hard for him, but he put his complete trust in the Lord's providing hand; God did provide. Within three weeks of his being laid off, Jonathon got a job offer from HP. Yesterday, was his first day!

On the 8th of February, Austin made a public confession of his faith by following the Lord's command to be baptized. It was a very special day for our family. From a young age, it was very evident that Austin had a real tenderness towards things of the Lord. Before he was born, Charae prayed that this time, mom would have a boy, and that perhaps God would direct his heart towards the ministry of the Word. We are excited to see how the Lord will use Austin in the future for His glory.

The other evening I was sitting on my bed when Ania came into my room and curled up next to me. For some time, mom and I had been worried about where Ania was spiritually and had been praying that she would come to Christ. I would sometimes ask her how her walk with the Lord was and what she was learning in her Bible reading. On this occasion, she just casually answered that her Bible reading was good. I prodded her a little further.
"Well, what do you mean by, 'It's good', Ania?" She looked at me very seriously and asked, "Nae-Nae, what does it mean to be a Christian?" I was a little taken aback not expecting this, but tried to gently answer her question.
"Well, it means that we are a follower of Jesus Christ, and we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; that He gave His life for us and we are no longer under the bondage of sin. When we come to Christ, we are given a new nature, and our desires and affections are changed."
She started to tear up at this point, "Well, How do you know if you are a Christian?" She said, "I have prayed so hard that God would save me, and I want so badly to become a Christian. But I am afraid that I am not."
God showed me then that he had been working in Ania's little heart even though it had not been apparent to me. That night, Ania asked the Lord Jesus to come into her heart and to give her a peace that only can come from Him. What a blessing to know that Ania is now a child of Jesus!

 Lastly, in  exactly 10 days, we are going to be back together again as a family. Charae gets a week off from teaching for spring break, and we are all looking forward to seeing her.

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Comic Relief for the Day

In the midst of memorizing famous speeches and planning historical plays, I decided my students needed some comic relief from all of the blood and war of the French Revolution and the War of 1812.
Annalise, Austin, and Ania each prepared a comic monologue, memorized it, and preformed it for Daddy. Enjoy!

Ania: Coat Hanger Sculpture from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown
Austin: The Escape from Huck Finn
Annalise: Leave Me Alone from The Star Spangled Girl
